TCU v Texas Tech
TCU v Texas Tech

Last-play victory isn't enough to keep TCU at No. 3

A miraculous, last-play touchdown gave last week's  No. 3-ranked TCU a 55-52  victory over Texas Tech on Saturday. But FWAA-NFF voters knocked the Horned Frogs down to No. 4 in this week's Super 16 Poll.

Ohio State again remained No. 1, with 29 first-place votes behind a somewhat erratic Cardale Jones to beat Western Michigan, 38-12. It was the Buckeyes' second straight non-domination of a MAC team after squeaking past Northern Illinois the previous week.

The biggest move this week however was Utah joining the poll at No. 12 after the Utes manhandled Oregon 62-20. That loss dropped Oregon completely out of the poll.

The pollsters consist of FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famers, NFF Board Members and highly regarded collegiate administrators who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective as well as a diversity of viewpoints from the different roles associated with the game.
