Villanova football players give life through Be the Match

Nova-Albany-game-factsFootball coaches worry about matchups all the time. It’s a key part of game planning. From matching up defenders on wide receivers to exploiting mismatches downfield, matchups are a fundamental.

But Be the Match, well that’s become a special cause for Villanova head coach Andy Talley. Now in his 23rd year associated with the bone marrow donor program, Talley holds testing drives to get volunteers tested and into a national registry. Many of his football players take part in the testing as well.

This year, the matchups were especially helpful as two players were found to be matches and took time off during the season to save a life.
