SUPER 16 POLL | Undefeated Alabama continues to dominate

American football

Four of the five remaining undefeated teams in FBS continue to lead the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll released today, in a possible preview of the College Football Playoff field.

Alabama remained No. 1, receiving all but one first-place vote, followed by Michigan, Clemson and Washington — all 9-0.

The top four in the final College Football Playoff rankings will compete in the national semifinals on Dec. 31.

Ohio State moved to No. 5 after a 62-3 victory against Nebraska

At No. 5, Louisville leads a group of one-loss teams followed by Ohio State and Texas A&M. Penn State, which beat Ohio State 24-21 last week, made its debut at No. 10. Baylor, Florida and Nebraska dropped out.

LSU and Oklahoma returned to the poll. Boise State, which lost 30-28 to Wyoming, and Florida State, which lost to Clemson, 37-34, dropped out.

Western Michigan, the other remaining undefeated team in FBS, finished four votes behind No. 16 LSU  but led the Group of Five teams. Boise State also received votes

The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.
