Alabama and Florida State maintained their hold on the Nos. 1 and 2 spots atop the Week 2 FWAA-NFF Super 16 poll after a weekend with wild finishes once again. Michigan was the only other school to receive first place votes.

Ohio State moved up to No. 3 after a 48-3 dismantling of Tulsa. Clemson dropped to No. 4 after escaping with a 30-24 victory over Troy.

Alabama beat Western Kentucky, 38-10, while Florida State manhandled a Charleston Southern team missing 14 players, 52-8.

The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective.
