Ohio State No. 1 in FWAA-NFF Super 16 preseason poll

National champion Ohio State tops the first Football Writers Association of America-National Football Foundation Super 16 poll of the 2015 season.

NFF CHOF Logo Centered - 3 10 14ffaw_redesignThe preseason poll, released on Thursday, ranks the top 16 teams in the FBS and is released every Sunday of the 2015 season.

The Buckeyes received 38 first-place votes. TCU and Alabama, ranked No. 2 and 3, received one first-place vote a piece. Baylor and Oregon round out the top 5.

Voting is conducted by FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famer members, NFF board members and highly regarded college administrators selected to create a geographically balanced perspective as well as a diverse viewpoint from all levels associated with the game.

The poll will be posted on ASN each Sunday, except the first regular season poll, which will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

ABOUT THE FWAA-NFF SUPER 16 POLL: The FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll was established at the conclusion of the 2013 season by long-time partners, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF). Voters rank the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and the results will be released every Sunday of the 2015 season; the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The first poll will be released Sept. 8 (to account for Labor Day games), and the final poll will be released Dec. 6. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famers, NFF Board Members and highly regarded collegiate administrators who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective as well as a diversity of viewpoints from the different roles associated with the game.
