ASN's Doug Bell and Jim Donnan paid tribute to LaVell Edwards during Friday's NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl halftime report.
Edwards, the legendary BYU coach who died Thursday at 86, won 257 games in 29 seasons. He ranks seventh in NCAA Division I history and led BYU to the 1984 national championship. Edwards was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
"When you say the word coach you think about LaVell Edwards," said Donnan, also a Hall of Fame coach. "He's what you should stand for. Nobody in the history of coaching's had better influence than LaVell Edwards."
