Top half of FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll unchanged

For the first time this season, the top half of the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll has remained the same week to week.

From No. 1 Ohio State to No. 8 Alabama none of the top teams saw movement this week. But one of the previous big movers in nearly all polls - Michigan - lost some momentum with a devastating loss at home to No. 7 Michigan State. The Wolverines fell to the Spartans, 27-23, when punter Blake O'Neill bobbled the snap, then lost the ball with less than 10 seconds remaining. MSU's Jalen Watts-Jackson snagged the ball and ran it in for the go-ahead touchdown as time expired. In the ensuing excited pile-on, Watts-Jackson's hip was dislocated and he was transported to a local hospital.

The loss dropped Michigan from No. 12 to No. 15 in the poll.

This week's newcomer is Iowa, debuting at No. 13, after beating Northwestern, 40-10.

The Super 16 poll is voted on by FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famers, NFF board members and highly regarded collegiate administrators who were selected to create a balanced geographical perspective as well as a diversity of viewpoints from the different roles associated with the game.
