N.C. State will have hands full with nation's leading rusher Ray Lawry

Old Dominion's Ray Lawry is leading the nation in rushing and rushing touchdowns, but that's not what he wants to talk about.

Playing as a teammate, working together and making a bowl game are on the mind of ASN's inaugural FBS Player of the Week.

For this down-to-earth rusher, he likes to play it low key. During the offseason he worked as a busboy in a restaurant in Norfolk, Va., and never told his boss what he did the rest of the year — until his boss saw his image on a banner at Ballard Stadium!

Lawry leads ODU against North Carolina State at 7 p.m. ET on ASN in the Monarchs' first home game against an ACC opponent.

The Wolfpack will try to become the first team this season to hold Lawry under 200 yards. Last season, Lawry rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns in the Monarchs' 46-34 loss at N.C. State.
