Litton, who led Marshall to its seventh consecutive victory with a career day, earned ASN's FBS Player of the Week honors. He captured 50% of the 3,522 votes to edge out Kishawn McClain of North Texas.
Colgate's Kyle Diener won ASN's FCS Player of the Week.
Litton threw for 486 yards with two touchdowns on 33-of-48 passing in the Thundering Herd's 34-10 victory against Charlotte. It was the third-highest passing yardage in school single-game history, trailing Byron Leftwich (576, 2001 GMAC Bowl vs. East Carolina) and Michael Payton (496 vs. VMI, 1991).
The FCS nominees included McClain, Louisiana Tech's Trent Taylor and Western Kentucky's Anthony Wales.
- McClain, a sophomore defensive back and Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week, returned a fumble 45 yards for a touchdown to spark the Mean Green's first win of the season, 30-23 against UTSA. Spooky coincidence: It was the team's longest since Zach Orr's fumble return for a TD two years ago ... also on Halloween night. Honorable mention: DaMarcus Smith ran for 137 yards with a late touchdown and was 11-of-22 passing for 104 yards.
- Taylor, a junior receiver, made five catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs beat Rice, 42-17, in a Conference USA West Division showdown. Taylor's touchdowns covered a career-high 63 and 47 yards. He eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season with 1,003 yards through nine games. Honorable mention: Carlos Henderson had six catches for 115 yards with two TDs and a 57-yard kickoff return.
- Wales, a redshirt junior running back and and Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week, earned his second ASN Player of the Week nomination by rushing for a career-high four touchdowns in a 55-30 Conference USA victory against Old Dominion. It was the the most by a Hilltoppers running back since Keshawn Simpson scored four at Georgia State in 2013. Wales has piled up 489 yards and six rushing touchdowns in his last three conference games.
