MAC, ASN team up for multi-year deal with 10 football games in 2015

The Mid-American Conference is coming to American Sports Network.

The MAC and ASN are teaming up to bring you 10 football games this season, starting Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET when Eastern Michigan plays host to Old Dominion.

ASN will televise up to 10 football games, 10 men’s basketball games and five women’s basketball games per year as part of the multi-year sublicense agreement with ESPN.

"We're excited to kick off our new partnership with the Mid-American Conference this season," said Doron Gorshein, COO of Sinclair Networks Group. "With high-quality competition, as well as loyal and enthusiastic fans, the Conference is a great addition to our robust schedule of live programming."

Founded in 1946, the MAC is a 12-member NCAA Division I conference that sponsors 23 sports and is one of 10 members of FBS (Football Bowl Subdivison). The league spans five states — Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York and Ohio — with a total enrollment of nearly 300,000 students.

"Our announcement with American Sports Network is another example of our continued growth of Mid-American Conference television coverage," said MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher. "This strategic partnership continues our growth of expanded coverage to our fan base and provides another platform to showcase the outstanding students attending Mid-American Conference member institutions."
