Lamar's Kade Harrington scores national FCS honor

Kade Harrington, who rolled up a Southland Conference-record 347 yards rushing last week, nearly set another milestone this week in voting for ASN's FCS Player of the Week.

Lamar's junior running back received 3,589 votes this week, second to Georgetown's Kyle Nolan (4,220). Both received more votes than any Player of the Week candidate this season.

Harrington did earn STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in a 44-28 win against Abilene Christian. He scored on touchdowns of 80 and 62 yards to average 12.4 yards on 28 carries, and he caught three passes for 18 yards. Harrington's 365 all-purpose yards set the school record and he moved into a tie for the Cardinals' all-time scoring record with 198 points.

Nolan, ASN's FCS Player of the Week, earned honorable mention from STATS along with Gardner-Webb quarterback Tyrell Maxwell, who was also an ASN FCS Player of the Week nominee.
