Funeral services set for Brian Keller, Lafayette football player killed in car accident
Funeral services for Lafayette football player Brian Keller, who died June 25 from injuries suffered in a car accident on June 23, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, Pa.
Keller, from Somerdale, N.J., was a senior.
"The outpouring of support over the last several days from friends, teammates, fellow student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, and other members of the Lafayette community is a testament to how greatly Brian will be missed," Lafayette President Alison Byerly said on the school's website. "We extend deepest condolences to Brian's parents, Mark and Susan Keller, his brother, Alex, and his sisters, Amy and Emily."
Keller, a tight end, started seven games last season, making 24 catches for 320 yards and three touchdowns with at least one catch in every game. He had two receptions during a 27-7 victory over archrival Lehigh at Yankee Stadium in his final game.
A mechanical engineering major, Keller had a 3.33 GPA during the 2014 fall semester and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Byerly said a campus commemoration of Keller's life will be held after students return for the fall semester.
