ICYMI: Alex Gardner, FIU set milestones against Marshall

FIU junior Alex Gardner rushed for 119 yards to become the school's all-time leading rusher in a 31-14 Conference USA victory against Marshall Saturday on ASN.

Anthony Jones led the Panthers with 121 yards on 17 carries, but the night belonged to Gardner. He ran for two touchdowns and set the FIU career rushing record with 2,219 yards. He surpassed Rashod Smith's 2,195 yards in 2002-04.

He also led FIU to its first victory ever against Marshall. The Panthers (4-7, 4-3 C-USA) also became the first team in school history with four conference victories.
