Team of the Week | Dayton Flyers
With two hard fought wins this past week the Dayton Flyers stayed on top of the A10 standings with a 10-2 record. Dayton has now won four straight and seven of their last eight games.
Kendall Pollard (19 points) led four Flyers in double figures (Charles Cooke 16, Scoochie Smith 13 and Xeyrius Williams 11) as Dayton knocked off Saint Joseph’s 77-70 by outscoring the stubborn Hawks by seven points in the second half.
In a classic A10 championship level battle between two of the hottest conference teams and in a rematch of a Dayton's three-point win earlier this season, this game came down to Williams's twin threes in the last 18.9 seconds. The last clutch shot came with :07.2 seconds to go and gave the Flyers a two-point lead.
Once again Pollard’s 17 points led the way followed by Cooke with 13 and Williams with 13 points and Kyle Davis’ with 10 points for the Flyer’s crucial road win.
