Clemson bumps Ohio St. from top spot in FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll

After a convincing victory against Florida State, Clemson is college football's newest team to beat.

The top-ranked team in the College Football Playoff rankings ascended to No. 1 in the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll with a 23-13 win against the Seminoles to clinch the ACC's Atlantic Division and a berth in the conference championship game.

Ohio State dropped to No. 2 despite remaining undefeated with a 28-14 victory against Minnesota. Alabama, which moved up four spots to No. 3 with a 30-16 victory against LSU, and Baylor, which slipped two spots to No. 4 after a 31-24 victory against Kansas State, also received first-place votes.

TCU fell from No. 3 to No. 14 after losing to Oklahoma State, 49-29.

The pollsters in the Super 16 Poll consist of FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famers, NFF Board Members and highly regarded collegiate administrators who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective as well as a diversity of viewpoints from the different roles associated with the game.
