Alabama goes wire to wire atop Super 16 Poll

The final FWAA-National Football Foundattion Super 16 Poll of the season ends where it all began - with Alabama at No. 1.

The Crimson Tide, one of two undefeated teams in FBS, started the poll Labor Day weekend as a solid No. 1 and only strengthened its case as the season progressed, with all first place votes in the final balloting.

Western Michigan, finishing at No. 12 in the poll, was the only other undefeated team.

Clemson moved to No. 2 in the poll, pushing Ohio State, which was off this past weekend, to No. 3. Clemson beat Virginia Tech for the ACC title Saturday night, 42-35.

Navy fell out of the rankings while Auburn entered the poll in the final spot.
