Monica McNutt joined the American Sports Network in June 2015 as a host, basketball analyst and reporter. Previous to joining ASN Monica worked at ABC 7 WJLA/News Channel 8 in Washington, D.C. as a sports anchor and host of High School Sports Final. Monica graduated from the University of Maryland with a master’s in broadcast journalism in 2015. Monica was a standout shooting guard and four-year starter on the Georgetown women’s basketball team while an undergraduate. Monica graduated from Georgetown with her B.A. in English in 2011 with fond memories from a decorated basketball career that concluded a thrilling contest with UConn in the Sweet Sixteen to cap off her senior year. As a former athlete sports have held a special place for Monica. She remembers asd her time as a student athlete was winding down in college down she knew she wanted to stay connected to sports but probably wouldn’t pursue a professional playing career, the redirect into sports broadcasting has allowed her to do just that. When she’s not working, she loves visiting friends and family in D.C. Away from work in Florida, you can catch her teaching cycling classes, playing basketball or working with the Urban League Young Professionals and the NuLites organization.
