Western Michigan is the media choice to win the MAC championship.

The Broncos, featuring senior quarterback  Zach Terrell and sophomore running back Jamauri Bogan, were the pick to win the West Division and led the poll overall.

Terrell threw for 3,510 yards and 29 touchdowns last season with wide receiver Corey Davis as his favorite target. The senior collected 90 receptions for 1,436 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Western Michigan’s running game is also impressive with Bogan (1,051 yards and 16 touchdowns) and junior Jarvion Franklin (735 yards, 5 touchdowns). The Broncos ranked second in the league last season with 204.6 yards rushing per game.

Bowling Green, which returns 12 starters from last year’s 10-4 team that won the MAC Championship game, was the choice to win the East Division for a fourth consecutive year.

Ohio was a close second, followed by Akron, Buffalo, Miami and Kent State.

Toldeo and Northern Illinois were second and third in West Division voting, separated by 1 point. They were followed by Central Michigan, Ball State and Eastern Michigan.
