Kevin O’Rourke joined ASN as a freelance contributor in 2015. He has also contributed freelance work for The Post and Courier and MILB.com.
Kevin is in his fourth year at Charleston Southern University, and first as Director of Sports Media. He is the main media contact for CSU’s football and men’s basketball programs, as well as men’s and women’s golf. He also enters his fourth year as Voice of the Bucs, broadcasting basketball and football games, as well as weekly coach’s shows, on the CSU Sports Network. O'Rourke also writes and produces features on CSU athletes, featured on the CSU YouTube page. He earned his MBA in General Management from CSU in May of 2016 and began as an adjunct professor in the School of Business this fall.
A native of Staten Island, New York by way of Brielle, New Jersey, O’Rourke graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies/History from Rutgers University in 2010. As a student, he called play-by-play for Rutgers sports on the student-radio station and covered several olympic sports for the school’s daily newspaper. He also completed a production/news internship at SportsNet New York (SNY), the official network of the New York Mets and the Big East Conference.
