Boston College may not be flirting with perfection like it did last season when it made it all the way to the women’s national title game before suffering its lone loss, but the 2016-2017 edition of the Eagles are proving to be pretty potent, too.

Buoyed by the ASN Player of the Week Delaney Belinskas of BC is leading the conference, looking like national title contenders.

Belinskas, a freshman from Port Orange, Fla., tallied four goals in a weekend sweep over New Hampshire, including three in a 7-1 rout Saturday. She now has one hat trick and a four-goal game (against Maine) and 11 goals on the season. More importantly, her scoring prowess has helped BC overcome the graduation loss of Alex Carpenter and Haley Skarupa, who rank 1-2 in most career scoring records for the storied program.

BC sit at 9-3-2 overall and 8-2-0 in Hockey East play heading into a showdown this weekend against Northeastern. The Eagles were ranked fourth in last week’s USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and sixth in the USCHO poll.
