Duquesne’s Robinson, Bucknell’s Hass named basketball players of the week

The start of conference play means it’s getting real for college basketball fans.

For the first week of conference play, the ASN players of the week are Bucknell senior Chris Hass and Duquesne senior April Robinson.

Robinson posted a triple double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists as the Dukes improve to 13 -1. Folks these ladies are the real deal – watch out A10 and NCAA tournament for that matter. Robinson is currently second in the nation in assists per game (8.3), and we see she can score to. It certainly helps tally the dimes when your squad shoots 52.2% from the field. The Flyers ran into an offensive buzzsaw, and got clobbered 53-34 in rebounding. The Dukes play Fordham on the 10th and George Washington on the 17th, I’ll have my eyes peeled on those for sure. Congratulations April Robinson and the 13-1 Dukes.

Hass_Chris.cropHass averaged 31 points, three rebounds, 3.5 assists and three steals in two Patriot League victories last week. Against Navy, Hass had 22 points and followed that up with a land assault on Army, dropping 32 first-half points on the Black Knights. Those first-half points set a Bucknell record for points in a half.  Hass finished with 40 points on 13-of-19 from the field and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
