UPDATE: Rain-delayed rally moves Coastal Carolina to Super Regional

Coastal Carolina, which faced multiple suspended games over the weekend, capped a rain-soaked series against N.C. State on Tuesday with a dramatic rally to advance to this weekend's Super Regional.

On Monday, the Chanticleers lost to the Wolfpack 8-1 then the deciding game was suspended with the bases loaded in the ninth with CCU down 5-3.

When play resumed on Tuesday, an RBI groundout by G.K. Young, scored Anthony Marks. After pinch-hitter Tyler Chadwick was hit by a pitch to reload the bases, Seth Lancaster's single scored Zach Remillard and Michael Paez. Billy Cooke's single added an insurance run, capping a four-run rally and a 7-5 victory.

The Chanticleers will face the winner of the Rice-LSU game in the Super Regional.

Upsetting 2015 champion College World Series winner Virginia was not enough to help William & Mary advance to the NCAA baseball Super Regionals.

The Tribe, who beat Virginia 5-4 on the strength of a three-run second inning, fell to East Carolina, 8-4 in their second game Sunday.

East Carolina advanced to the Lubbock Super Regional and will take on Texas Tech this weekend.

UNC Wilmington rallied but was unable to get past South Carolina on Tuesday, falling 10-5. The Gamecocks advance to the Super Regional.

No. 2 seed Rice was knocked out of the tournament after LSU rallied with seventh and eighth innings run to top the Owls, 5-2.
