Carlos Henderson set an NCAA first Saturday night on ASN when he connected with Ryan Higgins on 12 completions for 326 yards and five touchdowns in Louisiana Tech’s 56-28 victory against UMass.
Henderson became the first player in NCAA history with more than 325 yards receiving and five touchdowns in a game. It was also the second most receiving yards in single-game school history, behind Troy Edwards’ 405 yards in 1998. The TDs covered 50, 42, 5, 83 and 6 yards.
Higgins finished with 484 yards on 26-of-33 passing for his fourth 400-yard game this season. The Bulldogs are now No. 2 in FBS passing offense with 383 yards per game.
