Brendan Jones joined the American Sports Network as part of the TV production team in September 2015. He grew up in Farmingville, N.Y. Brendan’s passion for sports journalism came at a young age from listening to the Mets and Rangers home telecasts on a nightly basis. “Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, Kevin Burkhart, and Sam Rosen changed the way I watched and listened to sports," Jones said. "The way they told stories and enhanced the viewers experience throughout made me realize this is what I wanted to do.” After graduating Stony Brook University with a BA in Journalism and a minor in Media Studies he interned with the News12 Long Island sports department before coming to the American Sports Network.
Brendan serves as ASN’s in-house college hockey reporter and analyst having played junior and college hockey. He also coached young goaltenders at The Rinx in Happague, Long Island for a year after his playing days were over. He still volunteers his time at the local rinks in West Palm Beach coaching goaltenders of all ages.
In his free time he tries to play golf, key word…tries. Follow him on Twitter at @MustBeJonesy
