Kids play helping make George Mason's Marquise Moore Player of the Week

Marquise Moore posted a double-double (25 points 13 rebounds) in an 85-66 win at Penn St last week and then followed that up with a  triple-double (17 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists) as George Mason knocked off Penn 79-60 for their seventh straight win. He was 18 of 29 from the floor (62%) and 6 of 7 from the line (86%) in averaging 21.0 points, 14.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game during that time. He is the Patriots' top scorer, rebounder and assist man on the season. The 6-2 senior has posted seven double-doubles in George Mason’s 11 games this season and is averaging a double-double (18.0 points/10.8 rebounds).

Those numbers are the results of the hard work he puts in to be a diversified player. Moore has worked hard in the weight room but his secret weapon is a Jungle Gym, that’s right, a Jungle Gym! It’s a custom-built 30-foot long, 6-foot wide, 15-foot high metal structure with monkey bars, pull-up stations, climbing ropes, rings and heavy bags. It’s the brain child of strength coach Robert “Handy” Handerahan, who was inspired watching his daughter, Ella, then 9, play on a jungle gym.

It’s working for Moore!
