Alabama, Clemson 1-2 in FWAA-NFF Preseason Super 16 Poll

The 2016 college football season will start the way the 2015 season ended — with Alabama No. 1 and Clemson No. 2.

The Crimson Tide beat the Tigers, 45-40, in the College Football Playoff national championship on Jan. 11. Alabama also outpointed Clemson in the FWAA-NFF Preseason Super 16 Poll. The Crimson Tide also received 26 first-place votes to Clemson’s 9.

The pollsters in the Super 16 Poll consist of FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famers, NFF Board Members and highly regarded collegiate administrators who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective as well as a diversity of viewpoints from the different roles associated with the game.
